How to make your salon website more successful

In today's competitive market, you must have a great website for your salon or beauty related business. Your website must impress and educate your existing clients in addition to your new prospective clients.

I have asked my web designer to give me some free tips and pointers to help you get your website started in the right direction

Here are some tips to help you accomplish your online goals.

Your website must be attractive, clean and easy to navigate. The look must create an impression of professionalism and creditability for your business.

Your contact information should be easy to find along with your operating hours and directions to your business. On your home page (or main page) you should introduce your business and explain what you can do for your clients. What makes your salon different from the other salons or beauty related businesses in your area?

Put some testimonials on your website. This is a great way for new clients to feel comfortable about trying your services if they see that others had a positive experience. Ask for testimonials at the bottom of your testimonial page with a form or a link to your email address.

Use an email list-building program to keep up to date with your visitors and clients by sending them promotions and discount offers via email. You should have an easy to find sign up form on your website. This method works very well and reminds people about your business and services.

Have a list of services on your website and explain each one of them. Educate your visitor as to why they might need that service. This will help you get more business when the client comes in for an appointment if they already know what services you have to offer them.

Put your website address on everything you print, mail out and on all of your advertising. You should always be promoting your website in every way you can.

Create a website discount “printable” certificate. This will give the site visitor incentive to make an appointment and it will help you keep track of the business you are getting from your website.

Offer gift certificates that they can purchase on your website. You can have them call in to place an order for the gift certificate or use an online billing company like www.PayPal.com, and then email them their printable certificate.

Have a photo gallery of your salon so they get an idea of what to expect when they visit you.

Let your website visitors learn about your staff on a “meet the team” page. They can read a small bio and see a photo of each team member and get an idea of who they will be seeing when they come in for an appointment.

Educate your visitors and clients with articles related to the services you offer and how you can help them. This is also a great way to promote your business and get more website traffic from the search engines.

If you implement some of these tips into your website, you will increase your business. I will be teaching you how to get more traffic to your website in the coming weeks, but the first step is making sure that your website is ready for visitors.
