Where do I draw the line between being a friend and being a boss?

Answer:

Make sure your good times are very professional, not personal. It’s very hard to be a friend and a boss. You can love them and be there for them, but on a professional, respectful level. Take time to have fun and bond, but not to much. Lay down the law or have "the talk" before you hire friends that work is work. Then you won't have to worry about it when the time arises to reprimand them.
